Working together to care for our ahupua'a.
The Waimānalo Christmas Parade is on Saturday, December 11th from 9:00-11:00am.
This year our float theme is “Nā I’a ‘Ono O Ke Kai” (The delicious fish of the sea).
We will be preparing crafts and decorations for the float at program on December 6, 8, and 9. Parents are welcome to join us these days and help make decorations.
On December 10th (Friday) we will be meeting at the Waimānalo Gym at 5pm to assemble the float. We need the help of all of the keiki, ‘ōpio, and Hui Mākua!!
We could use the following tools/ supplies on Friday, December 10th:
Cordless drills (with screw bits—to attach decorations to the float)
Large tarps (to cover the float overnight)
Goodies (to distribute from the float in the parade on Saturday)
December 10th is a potluck event. Please contact Kalei at email@example.com to let her know what you can contribute to the potluck.
On Saturday, December 11th, please drop the keiki and ‘ōpio off at the Waimānalo Gym by 7am, wearing their gray Hui Mālama O Ke Kai t-shirts.
The keiki need to be picked up at the Waimānalo Beach Park, where the parade will end.
Finally, we will need a clean-up crew at the Waimanalo Beach Park immediately following the parade to disassemble the float, run trash to the dump, and take the lumber back mauka to be stored away for next year.
